Darren Root Among Prestigious Attendees of the AICPA and CPA2Biz SaaS Executive Round Table

One of the accounting profession’s most noted thought leaders, Darren Root, CPA.CITP, CMGA, was recently selected to participate in the AICPA/CPA2Biz SaaS Executive Round Table event in New York. Root is the CEO of RootWorks, an education and consulting organization for accounting firms, and is also a practicing public accountant and the Executive Editor of CPA Practice Advisor.

This SaaS Executive Round Table brings together a group of experts to review today’s most advanced cloud-based technologies and exchange ideas and information on how vendors and service organizations can best support firms of all sizes.

“It was an honor to be selected to participate in the AICPA’s round table,” Root said. “I sat alongside the profession’s top leaders, who have all been active, positive participants in the evolution of the profession. It made for an incredibly dynamic and informative event.”

The SaaS Round Table participants come from various sectors in the accounting profession and provide updates on recent technology advancements and define the role of technology in accounting firms. The leaders are tasked with identifying areas for improvement and helping shape the vision for future innovations. In attendance were trade media editors, large firm practitioners, vendor executives, and executives from AICPA and CPA2Biz.

Root continues to play a major role in the advancement of the profession. Attendance at the AICPA event is another indicator of his dedication to staying in front of technology change and helping shape the accounting profession.

“I will continue to attend events like the SaaS Executive Round Table in order to thoroughly understand the technology available to firms and educate the profession,” stated Root.

The SaaS Executive Round Table event took place January 28-29, 2013, at AICPA headquarters in New York City.
