2017 Review of Intacct ERP – Accounts Receivable Functions

Intacct provides users with an easy way to manage all of the customers.  The customer list provides a summary of all customers, with basic contact information.  Users can choose to view current customer information from this screen or edit existing information as needed.  The customer entry screen also allows users to easily set up specific details for each customer, including default invoice message, and preferred invoice delivery method. 

Both payment terms and credit limits can be assigned to each customer as they are being entered into the system.  Intacct supports over 190 currencies, so global users can easily process both invoices and payments using a variety of currencies.

Users can access all posted payment in Intacct in the Posted Payments section, where users can view all payments received, payment method, payment date, and amount.  Users can accept credit card payments as well as ACH transfers from customers. Posted Payments can be sorted by customer name or I.D., or using other criteria such as Pay Method or Receipt Date.

Users can access a complete order history for all customers, and can easily process credit memos in the AR Adjustment screen.  Returns can be processed through the Order Entry module, which will automatically update any outstanding accounts receivable balances.

Intacct allows users to easily apply a payment to multiple invoices.  Users simply choose the payment type and customer and a complete list of all open invoices for that customer is displayed.  Users can check off the box that indicates full payment or the apply discount option, which allow users to enter the discounted amount in the column to the right of the screen.  Users can also apply payments directly to an invoice. The system also allows users to apply a payment to a customer that does not currently have an invoice, and can also process cash payments that are not applied to a particular customer.  Intacct offers multi-currency capability, so users can invoice and accept payments in multiple currencies.

Intacct users can choose to print statements under the activities section of accounts receivable and simply choose the statement option.  Intacct offers a wide variety of accounts receivable reporting options as well as customizable dashboard reporting.  Users can choose which customers they wish to print a report for, and can choose criteria to include including invoice date, due date, or GL posting date.  Other reports include the customer aging report as well as a complete AR ledger report.  Reports can be broken out by dimensions like location, department, or item for in-depth analysis. All Intacct reports can be viewed on screen, printed, stored in Intacct or in the cloud, added to a dashboard, or exported to Microsoft Excel, or a CSV file.

Intacct is a completely integrated application, with the AR module working in conjunction with other modules in the product.  The product also offers additional third-party application integration with a variety of software and apps that are available through Intacct’s Marketplace. The product also offers seamless integration with Salesforce CRM for complete customer management.

Intacct ERP is an excellent, easily navigated product that offers mid-sized businesses a wealth of accounts receivable capability.  Excellent reporting options are available, and users can easily export data to other applications when needed.  Pricing for Intacct is available upon request and general starts at around $400.00 per month.
