For the second year in a row, the Women’s Foundation of Greater St. Louis has named Brown Smith Wallace a top “Women in the Workplace” employer. Honorees were selected based on data submitted by each organization about structural efforts and outcomes to advance women through compensation, leadership, flexible work policies and recruitment and retention initiatives.
In 2014, Brown Smith Wallace launched a women’s initiative to enhance the professional lives of women within the firm, as well as the community. Internally, the firm hosts quarterly professional development sessions for women in management. The external program, The Bridge, is a special event series designed to be a vehicle for networking, fun and professional development.
This year’s event will take place on Tuesday, May 21, with special guest speaker Siri Chilazi who will discuss unconscious bias in the workplace. In addition to the networking event, The Bridge BOOtique, an evening of shopping supporting women small-business owners, will take place in the fall.
Brown Smith Wallace—an independent member firm of Moore Stephens North America—is a nationally recognized, top 100, full-service CPA and business advisory firm in Missouri with more than 300 employees. The firm is the top-ranked St. Louis firm in the 2019 Vault Accounting Firm rankings and is recognized as a top workplace for women by the Accounting MOVE Project.
