Nearly One-Fifth of America’s Billionaires Went to Just Five Colleges

The five colleges in Forbes' ranking have collectively graduated 126 billionaires with a total net worth of $927.4 billion.

Out of the 813 billionaires in the U.S., nearly a fifth of them went to just a handful of colleges.

Forbes published its “Top Colleges for Billionaires” list June 9 that ranks American universities by the number of undergraduate alumni that have gone on to become billionaires.

Take a look at the top five schools in the ranking, which have collectively graduated 126 billionaires with a total net worth of $927.4 billion.

5. Cornell University

Number of billionaire graduates: 13

Total net worth: $60.4 billion

Location: Ithaca, New York

4. Yale University

Number of billionaire graduates: 19

Total net worth: $149 billion

Location: New Haven, Connecticut

3. Harvard University

Number of billionaire graduates: 28

Total net worth: $261 billion

Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts

2. Stanford University

Number of billionaire graduates: 30

Total net worth: $90 billion

Location: Stanford, California
