What are you doing to make a difference in the profession, your community, the world?

I’m an educator, mentor, content creator, and consulting firm owner. I’m passionate about helping accountants learn what they need to know to be their best, ranging from technical skills to bolstering a resilient mindset. I’m a big supporter of licensure and encouraging the best and the brightest to join our lucrative, ever-evolving profession. I fiercely advocate for the value of getting the CPA license, whether going into traditional (i.e., large audit/tax firms) or non-traditional career paths. I often talk about how technology plays a role in the future of accounting. I am very concerned about keeping the profession relevant for future generations.

What do you like best about the accounting profession?

I love the versatility of the profession. I’ve been able to repeatedly adapt to the ever-changing requirements of my life while continuing to advance. It’s remarkably easy to reinvent yourself and tailor your career to your interests. There are so many niche skills to explore! Having the foundational understanding that accounting as the language of business opens doors. I am so grateful to have had many different opportunities over the years, all of which I attribute to the fact that I learned accounting as a technical skill. I can’t imagine where I’d be without this wonderful profession!
