Career highlights:

I was introduced to accounting at a young age helping as an administrative assistant for my dad’s accounting firm in California. When I moved to Oregon and worked various accounting roles to get through school,  I learned to love accounting and the relationships that are built both with clients and with other CPAs in the profession.  In 2016 I attended the AICPA Leadership Academy.   In October of 2021 I founded Rosie Brammer CPA, LLC, a boutique tax and business consulting practice in Clackamas Oregon. My career highlights which have defined my practice and my vision come from what I have learned serving with AICPA and OSCPA committees.  I am passionate that this profession is not just about what happens sitting behind a desk.  We have a responsibility to create a better future for the next generation of CPAs.

What are you doing to make a difference in the profession, your community, the world?

After I had my daughter in 2017, I started working  with women’s initiative committees both at the state and national level to promote and support the success of women in the accounting profession.  I volunteer to help make resources and connection groups because I want to create a culture of inclusion for all women at all levels to succeed and grow in their careers.

I have been honored to participate in JoA articles and as a speaker at AICPA conferences and OSCPA forums on women’s initiative topics.  I most recently participated in and moderated a presentation at the 2021 AICPA ENGAGE Conference  discussing Emerging Women Partners.

Favorite books/websites/podcasts/speakers/bloggers:

I love listening to podcasts.  My current favorite podcasts to listen to are “This American Life” by The Public Radio Exchange; “Unlocking Us” by Brene Brown; and “100% Guilt-Free Self-Care” by Tami Hackbarth.  All three are not only fun to listen to but also present different perspectives that widen my world view.

What do you like best about the accounting profession?

The people! Working in the accounting profession, I get to meet some of the most interesting and inspiring clients. I love learning about their world and working alongside them as their trusted advisor to advocate for their future and plan for life changes and tax impacts.
