Anchin, Block & Anchin LLP has been named the U.S. Overall Accountancy Firm of the Year for the second year in a row in the annual International Hedge Fund Awards announced last week. Winners were selected by Acquisition International Magazine. Their circulation of 53,000 includes individual and institutional investors as well as managers and other industry professionals.

The American Institute of CPAs today recognized Steven Levey, CPA/PFS, CGMA, with the AICPA Special Recognition Award for 2014. The Institute presents the award to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to a particular area of the profession.

Fortune Magazine has ranked Intuit as No. 8 in its just-released list of Best Companies to work for in the United States, the company’s best ranking ever. In addition, the magazine also included Intuit on its list of Top 10 Perks.

The American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) and the Management Accounting Section of the American Accounting Association (AAA) have announced that Stanley Baiman, Ph.D., has been awarded the 2014 Lifetime Contribution Award. Professor Baiman was honored for his 30 plus years of research and teaching of key management accounting issues, including those relevant in inter-firm contracting problems.

Bloomberg BNA has named that Paul Frankel as the recipient of the 2013 Franklin C. Latcham Award for Distinguished Service in State and Local Taxation. Frankel is senior counsel with Morrison and Foerster's State + Local Tax Group and former Chairman of Bloomberg BNA's State and Local Tax Advisory Board.

Global tax consulting firm Ryan has announced that the firm's Dallas, Texas office was selected to the Mid-size Company category of the 2013 Dallas Morning News Top 100 Places to Work list.
