As you've probably heard, the Obama Administration recently rolled out its latest budget proposal. While much of it won't affect the payroll business, there are several items that will raise eyebrows in the payroll industry if passed as proposed. National Employment Report Shows 220K Jobs Added in April
Employment at private companies in the U.S. increased by 220,000 jobs from March to April according to the April ADP National Employment Report. The report is produced by ADP, a provider of Human Capital Management (HCM) solutions, in collaboration with Moody’s Analytics. It is derived from ADP’s actual payroll data, measures the change in total nonfarm private employment each month on a seasonally-adjusted basis.

Small Business Jobs Index Shows Improvement in Employment
The latest Small Business Jobs Index grew 0.50 percent in the 12 months leading up to April, increasing to 101.26, a new peak level, reflecting improving employment conditions. Washington had the greatest gains among the states measured, with help from Seattle, which showed the highest increase in growth rate among metro areas.
