Along with its core financial product, Peachtree offers several industry-specific products, including its Sage Peachtree Premium Accounting for Nonprofits 2011, which is well-suited to small nonprofit organizations.
BASIC SYSTEM FUNCTIONS
All Peachtree products have traditionally seen easy installations, and the nonprofit version of Peachtree is no exception. The system offers a customizable interface that can display navigational centers, along with the option to access product features from a drop-down menu at the top of the screen. Data-entry screens are easily navigated and contain numerous function tabs throughout, making it easy to access additional product functions.
Peachtree is a complete financial management product, with the entire system built to work in tandem. Along with GL, AP and AR functionality, Sage Peachtree Premium Accounting for Nonprofits 2011 also contains Purchasing, Inventory, Employee and Payroll, and Banking functions. The product also offers a long list of add-on products that have been designed to work specifically with all Peachtree products.
Several product versions are available, ranging from entry-level to Peachtree Quantum, which is designed for up to 50 users. 4.5
CORE NFP/FUND ACCOUNTING CAPABILITIES
Sage Peachtree Premium Accounting for Nonprofits 2011 allows organizations to choose the organization type that best represents their organization. Users can choose a nonprofit-specific chart of accounts or use the United Way chart of accounts that is included. Accounts can be customized with up to five account segments that can represent departments or individual funds. Peachtree can easily process multiple transaction types, memorizing transactions for future entry. All budgets entered are easily tracked, with the ability to enter additional transactions as needed. Multiple budget types are available when entering budget information, and users can set up budgets for each account and/or segment. Donor information can be easily tracked in the customer field, using the correct GL numbers for easier tracking. Grant tracking is also available by segmenting the Grants GL codes to display the various grants that are currently in place.
Peachtree contains a solid audit trail function, which easily tracks all system transactions and includes valuable information for each transaction such as user name, date, time and amount of each transaction posted.
Now available is a remote access function. Also found in Sage Peachtree Premium Accounting for Nonprofits 2011 is the ability to email invoices, as well as e-banking and e-payment functionality. The Data Sync feature allows users to sync customer and vendor contact information with Outlook. 4.25
MANAGEMENT FEATURES
Sage Peachtree Premium Accounting for Nonprofits 2011 contains an excellent Business Status feature, which is a series of business snapshot screens. The business status feature is easily customizable, with the ability to display one or all eight status screens. The Maintain Budgets feature allows users to forecast budget totals for each fiscal period. The system offers excellent user security, with user-level assignments of Admin, Full, Selected and None. These levels are then set up with selected modules, as well as individual tasks within that module. Credit limit amount can be set for each vendor to prevent overspending. The Write Letters function allows for the creation of custom collection letters to donors with outstanding balances. This same tool can be used to create a template for writing donation letters, as well as welcoming new donors with a custom letter. Sage also offers an add-on document management product that is designed to work with Peachtree. 4
FINANCIAL STATEMENTS & REPORTING
One of the most useful features in Sage Peachtree Premium Accounting for Nonprofits 2011 is the ability to print consolidated reports for all companies. This makes it easy to simply create a company as a fund center and enter transactions against that particular center, then print a consolidated report to get a big picture of all companies. Standard system reports can also be customized to suit the needs of the organization, with templates available to create custom documents. Other nonprofit-specific reports are available, including the Statement of Revenues, Statement of Financial Position, and the Donor and Grantor Receipt report. All system reports can be emailed to recipients directly from the screen, exported to Excel, or saved in PDF format. 4.5
INTEGRATION/IMPORT/EXPORT
Peachtree for Nonprofits contains an import/export filter that allows users to select specific data that needs to be imported or exported. All files are exported as a CSV file. Peachtree offers a long list of add-on modules and third-party products designed to work specifically with its financial products. HELP/SUPPORT
All Peachtree products contain a solid Help function, as well as a setup guide and a new user guide. Numerous tutorials are available for commonly used system functions, and links under the Help function provide quick access to both customer support and the Peachtree website. All system updates are available on the Peachtree website and can be downloaded at the user’s convenience. The Peachtree Knowledgebase offers quick access to FAQs and can be searched using a variety of criteria. Training options vary and include anytime web training and onsite training. Peachtree currently offers three levels of support: Monthly Support, Freedom Support and Peachtree Business Care. All support plans offer both phone and email support, along with website support access. 5

Sage Peachtree Premium Accounting for Nonprofits 2011 is $424.99 for a single-user system, and $849.99 for a five-user version. Equipped with nonprofit-specific reporting and a solid chart of accounts, this is an excellent fit for the small nonprofit organization looking for a solid financial product.
