SmartVault now integrates with QuickBooks Online, the company has announced. This extends the SmartVault Toolbar already in use by thousands of QuickBooks desktop users, to support QuickBooks Online, Intuit’s cloud-based accounting solution for small business.
For the first time, users of QuickBooks Online can now attach and view source documents (such as receipts, bills, and invoices) directly from within QuickBooks Online. SmartVault is the first to deliver this type of “attach and view” document management functionality integrated seamlessly into the QuickBooks Online interface.
“Our QuickBooks integration is at the center of our unique value proposition to small business, and now having the ability to extend that same seamless integration to QuickBooks Online users is very exciting,” stated Eric Pulaski, founder and CEO of SmartVault.
“QuickBooks Online was Intuit’s fastest growing application last year, and they are well positioned to leverage the migration of small business onto cloud and online services. We believe that the combination of an online accounting application with integrated online file storage and sharing is very powerful for a small business—making financial data and source documents accessible at any time and from anywhere within a single, centralized repository.“
SmartVault for QuickBooks Online was built using the SmartVault Software Developers Kit (SDK) released in the fall of 2011. Earlier this year, SmartVault released a Plug-in for Microsoft Outlook, which was also built using the SmartVault SDK.
These applications are strong examples of how SmartVault’s document management and file sharing capabilities can be easily integrated into commonly used productivity applications to create workflows that add real value to the business user. SmartVault is currently working with other developer partners to support Toolbar integration across multiple accounting systems and business-critical applications.
“I’ve been asking SmartVault for an integration with QuickBooks Online for years, so I’m really excited that they have delivered…in spades,” said Stacy Kildal, Advanced Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor, Intuit Premier Reseller, and QuickBooks Online expert.
“Now, right from within QuickBooks Online, I can easily attach source documents to records—giving me only one place to go to access all of my financial data and my back up documents. It’s such a small thing, but packs such tremendous impact, especially if you are a small business trying to unbury yourself from a paper nightmare.”
SmartVault for QuickBooks Online will be released in late November and will be available in SmartVault premium plans starting at $19/month. Attendees of the Sleeter Group’s 2012 Accounting Solutions Conference can see a demonstration of theintegration by visiting SmartVault Booth # B-31.
Additionally, SmartVault CEO, Eric Pulaski, was invited by Intuit to present SmartVault for QuickBooks Online at the ProAdvisor Expert Reviewer Council (PERC)—a group meeting of influential QuickBooks ProAdvisors that is also held at the Sleeter Conference.
