Nov. 05, 2012
Thomson Reuters will kick off its 32nd annual Thomson Reuters SYNERGY Users’ Conference for Professional Tax & Accounting Firms on Nov. 7 in Grapevine, Texas. The longest running professional conference of its kind, this year’s conference is expected to draw record attendance, with over 1,100 participants from across the country sharing insights, exchanging ideas, and gaining hands-on experience with the latest technology and tools in the tax and accounting profession.
This year’s conference will share its theme, SYNERGY: Join the Journey, with customer events conducted by the Tax & Accounting business of Thomson Reuters in Australia, the United Kingdom, the US, and Brazil. Jon Baron, managing director, Professional Segment, Tax & Accounting, said the theme reflects the breadth of resources and collaboration opportunities that Thomson Reuters brings to tax and accounting professionals worldwide.
“Practitioners at progressive firms want to completely digitize their work, allowing them to spend more time building stronger client relationships,” Baron said. “So, partnering with a solutions provider that offers a vast array of tightly integrated and comprehensive software products, technology tools, and services is more important than ever. With solutions including the CS Professional Suite, Checkpoint, and many others, Thomson Reuters provides tax and accounting professionals the broadest and deepest solution set available in the profession.”
The conference, to be held Nov. 7-10 at the Gaylord Texan Hotel and Convention Center, offers over 100 workshops with hands-on software training, product overviews, and more. Topics include practice management, marketing, technology, compliance matters, and firm growth. The conference also offers exciting events, including an evening of live music at Gilley’s, a classic Texas honky-tonk.
“The SYNERGY Conference offers a great environment for practitioners to learn, network, and gain insight that they can put to use in their firms immediately,” Baron said. “That has driven the success of the conference over the years. With the near-capacity attendance we’re expecting this year, that atmosphere should be more dynamic than ever.”
The conference also offers roundtable discussions and keynote presentations by profession leaders and motivation experts. This year’s roster of keynote speakers includes Jon Baron; consultant Gale Crosley, CPA; and Connie Podesta, motivational speaker, author, media personality, and comedienne.
