Cirrus Health Selects Intacct for Its Financial Management Processes

Cirrus Health replaced Microsoft Dynamics GP with Intacct's cloud-based financial management software.

Intacct, provider of cloud management and accounting software, announced today that Cirrus Health has selected Intacct to manage its financial processes across facilities. Cirrus Health, which owns and manages four hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers in the United States, previously used Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains.

Cirrus Health decided to implement Intacct’s solution when it realized it needed a cloud-based financial management system to standardize its financial reporting and data collection among its facilities and 40 corporate and investment entities. Transitioning to Intacct has allowed Cirrus Health to consolidate all of its facilities’ accounts into one place, automate strategic reports, streamline closing processes and implement financial standards, while improving efficiencies and productivity.

“We selected Intacct because we wanted a flexible solution that was purely accounting-focused, and could meet our needs for multi-entity management and financial control with minimal maintenance,” said Erin Horak, controller at Cirrus Health. “I used Intacct successfully for four years at my previous company, and I’m thrilled that Cirrus Health is now also benefiting from the reliable, real-time financial visibility and transparent audit trail that Intacct provides.”

The new system allows Cirrus Health to have one chart of accounts, methodology and account code system for all of its facilities, making it easier to compare EBITDA, expenses and revenues in real-time. In addition, Cirrus Health has lowered costs by reducing the time spent each month on manual processes by at least 20 hours and reducing headcount – a move that saves the company $160,000 per year alone.

“With Intacct’s pre-built financial reports and executive dashboards, our CFO and CEO can review key financial and operational data on their own, and easily drill into reports for a thorough picture of our performance,” said Horak. “Intacct has also given us greater visibility into what our remote locations are doing without having to rely on them to answer questions.”

Other benefits and features of the new system include the ability to attach supporting documents to bills and other entries and the ability to manage documents and processes for each facility from a central location. The finance team at Cirrus Health’s headquarters can run the necessary reports for the month-end close process without delay.

“Now that we have a modern system like Intacct in place, we can rest easy knowing it will be able to handle our accounting operations, while removing the IT burden of maintaining unreliable hardware or obsolete software ourselves,” said Horak. “Intacct’s frequent feature updates mean that we no longer have to worry about patches or upgrades and can focus on making the most of our business insight and keeping our departmental costs down.”
