The Illinois CPA Society’s Young Professionals Leadership Conference positions the next generation of finance and accounting professionals for future success, and this year’s conference features strategies to bring connectivity into the workplace. Additional presentations include insight into creating power teams, relationship-building for business opportunities and a case study in destructive culture.

The keynote speech, Social Gravity, given by Talent Anarchy Founder and renowned author and presenter, Jason Lauritsen, reveals how to take unexpected opportunities to connect with others and turn them into meaningful and profitable relationships. While we all have connections, such as on Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter, what do these connections mean? How do we ensure we’re connecting with the right people to foster career growth?

Hosted at the Mid-America Club, AON Center, Chicago, IL from 8:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., the Young Professionals Leadership Conference is open to members and non-members. Attendees will learn real-world strategies to better engage with others and bring a sense of connectivity into their lives.

The conference also features engaging sessions on:

  • Power Teams
Leverage the strengths of individuals for organizational success.
  • Step Outside the Cubicle
Develop authentic, sustainable connections for business opportunities.
  • Destructive Culture/Connections
Learn what Lance Armstrong can teach us about the power and ethics of connections.

“The Young Professionals Leadership Conference is a premier event for the Society. We all know the adage, ‘it’s not what you know, but who you know’ and this conference emphasizes the importance of creating and fostering connections to further one’s career,” said Illinois CPA Society President and CEO, Todd Shapiro. “This conference embraces the next generation of accounting professionals and equips them to leverage meaningful relationships.”
