Middleburg Wealth Management Names New Director of Wealth Management
Middleburg Wealth Management recently announced the addition of William M. Francavilla, CFP(R) as Director of Wealth Management. In his new role, Francavilla will work with a select group of clientele and further develop MWM’s estate-planning strategies. Francavilla has 28 years of experience in the financial services industry.
Grant Thornton Announces New Partners
Grant Thornton LLP named James Hughes, CPA a tax partner in the firm’s Irvine, Calif., office and Sean Denham, CPA office managing partner of its Philadelphia practice. Hughes has nearly 15 years of public accounting experience, consulting on a wide variety of corporate tax matters, such as accounting methods, corporate reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions, accounting for income taxes and accounting for uncertain tax positions (ASC 740), and evaluating individual and state tax planning opportunities. He graduated with his bachelor’s degree in accounting from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.
Denham most recently served as the leader of the Northeast region audit practice and as assistant office managing partner of operations and quality for the New York practice. He was also the Northeast region national professional practice director for Grant Thornton’s National Professional Standards group. He has more than 20 years of public accounting experience and specializing in SEC regulatory issues and Public Company Accounting Oversight Board matters. Denham received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Lehigh University.

Margolin, Winer & Evens Adds New M&A Tax Partner
Margolin, Winer & Evens LLP recently added Susan Jacobini Harrington, CPA as a tax partner. Harrington has more than 30 years of broad-based business and tax experience in different industries. She has managed a wide range of client engagements, leading major domestic and international private equity and strategic acquisitions, divestiture projects, spin-offs, bankruptcies and restructurings. Harrington received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from Queens College and her Master of Science degree in Taxation from Pace University’s Lubin School of Business.
Windham Brannon Names New Shareholder and Principal
Windham Brannon recently elected Mary Beth Saylor as a shareholder of the firm and selected Kerry Buchan, CPA as a principal. Saylor is a Tax Principal at Windham Brannon and has more than 24 years of public accounting experience. She currently serves as the Construction Practice Lead, specializing in high net-worth individuals, closely held family businesses, manufacturing, real estate and complex tax planning.
Buchan has more than 20 years of accounting experience, serving in leadership roles, and as an external auditor in a variety of industries, including real estate, development and construction, manufacturing and distribution, mining, retail, software development, professional services and publishing. Buchan graduated from Kennesaw State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting.
REDW Adds Four to Talented Staff
REDW LLC recently hired four new members: Christopher Schmitz, CPA, CGMA, as a manager in the Audit and Consulting Department in Albuquerque; Jennifer Tellez, CPA as a senior accountant in the Tax Department team in Phoenix; Veronica Carillo as a staff accounting in the Audit and Consulting Department in Albuquerque; and Valerie Martinez as an audit assistant in Albuquerque.
Schmitz has more than 16 years of experience with governmental, nonprofit organizations and commercial businesses in the areas of financial statement audits, single audits, internal control evaluations, account reconciliations, budget preparation, and accounting system set-up. He graduated from Adams State University.
Tellez has 10 years of experience in Trust and Estates. She graduated from Arizona State University.
Carillo has prior experience as a bookkeeper and recently graduated with her Masters Degree from University of New Mexico.
Martinez has prior experience in the Food and Beverage and Retail industries.
Intacct Hires New Director of Intacct Accountants Program
Intacct recently announced it hired Kevin Cumley as its new director of the Intacct Accountants Program offered in collaboration with CPA.com. Cumley previously served as the vice president of Strategic Alliances at Abila and as president of Forepoint. Cumley graduated from Eastern Washington University with a degree in Accounting and Information Technology.
Tanner Names New Audit Partner
Tanner LLC recently announced the selection of Scott L. Robinson, CPA as an audit partner at the firm. Robinson has more than 15 years of experience serving public and private entities in the technology, software, medical, manufacturing and distribution, construction and not-for-profit technology sectors. Robinson graduated from Brigham Young University with a Masters in Accounting, and he is a member of both the AICPA and UACPA.
