The accouting firms of Nussbaum Yates Berg Klein & Wolpow, LLP and Want & Ender CPA, P.C. have merged effective January 1, 2015. The name of the combined firm will be Nussbaum Yates Berg Klein & Wolpow, LLP.
Nussbaum Yates Berg Klein & Wolpow (NYBKW), one of the Top 12 firms on Long Island, concentrates its practice in accounting, auditing, tax and business advisory services. The merger with Want & Ender, a boutique New York City firm, will further the combined firm’s reputation in service to high net worth individuals and family groups in the New York metropolitan area.
“We’ve been looking for the right merger partner in New York and we found a complementary firm in Want & Ender, says NYBKW Managing Partner Barry Berg. “They share our commitment to client service and technical excellence. Our combined strength and increased depth of resources will be an asset to current clients and an enticement to future clients.”
“The ability to offer an international reach to our clients was a major incentive, as well,” says Want & Ender Managing Partner Stanley Want. “The firm is a member of the McGladrey Alliance, one of the largest national accounting associations, and a benefit to our clients with international interests.” The McGladrey Alliance has members in more than 40 states and access to McGladrey worldwide.
In addition, the firm is proud to welcome as a partner Philip H. Kanyuk, CPA/ABV/CFF, ASA, formerly of Baker Tilly. Mr. Kanyuk brings over 20 years of experience in investigative and forensic accounting services for the public and private sector.
“What attracted me is the firm’s commitment to providing superior service for clients,” according to Mr. Kanyuk. “In addition, a growing and expanding firm offers more opportunities to current and future employees.”
The firm also is pleased to announce that Michael Corkery, CPA, CFE ascends to the position of partner, after nearly 15 years of accounting experience. In that time, he has developed a strong reputation as a trusted advisor, helping clients achieve their goals.
With these additions, Nussbaum Yates Berg Klein & Wolpow grows to 60 people, including 13 partners. The firm is confident in its ability to add great value to its clients and their interests thanks to this new growth.
