CohnReznick Adds New Principal
CohnReznick recently announced that John Bautista, ASA, has joined as a principal in its Valuation Advisory Services Practice. Bautista has more than 20 years of corporate finance experience in the areas of business valuation, business interests, securities and intangible assets for transactions, tax and financial reporting. He has worked in a variety of industries, including industrial products, business services, retail, technology and new media, asset management, hospitality, telecommunication, biotechnology and life sciences. Bautista earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration (Emphasis in Finance) from the University of Southern California and his MBA degree in Business Administration from Columbia Business School.
NH&RA Adds CohnReznick’s Principals to Board of Directors
The National Housing & Rehabilitation Association recently announced the election of two principals from CohnReznick LLP to its Board of Directors: Ira Weinstein, Co-Office Managing Principal of the firm’s Baltimore office, and Marshall Phillips, a principal in the firm’s Charlotte office. Weinstein provides analysis, structuring recommendations and support for transaction negotiations for project sponsors, developers, investors and syndicators.
Phillips works with state credit programs and other clients dealing with historic tax credits, affordable housing tax credits, solar/renewable energy tax credits and incentives and new markets tax credits.
Graydon Thompson CPAs Names New Senior Tax Manager
Graydon Thompson LLC recently named Michael J. Twomey, CPA a Senior Tax Manager with the firm. Twomey has more than 20 years of public accounting experience providing tax planning and compliance services for global companies and tax equalizations for inbound and outbound international executives. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Finance from Mount St. Mary’s University.
FAF Trustees Announce Addition to Board
The Board of Trustees of the Financial Accounting Foundation announced the appointment of Brian W. Caputo, CPA to the Governmental Accounting Standards Board. Caputo is the chief financial officer and city treasurer of the City of Aurora, Illinois. Caputo has been serving the city of Aurora since 1998, where he is responsible for developing and overseeing the execution of the city’s annual budget, preparing the comprehensive annual financial report and managing annual investment of public funds. He served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Army Reserve before retiring. Caputo received his bachelor’s degree from the United States Military Academy, a master’s degree in accountancy from DePaul University, and a master of public administration degree from Northern Illinois University.
KBKG Expands Staff
KBKG recently announced the addition of John Hanning, SCSP, to its Ohio office. Hanning has extensive experience in tangible property repair regulations, cost segregation, construction tax planning and fixed asset depreciation reviews. He received his Bachelors degree in Economics Management from Ohio Wesleyan University and holds an MBA from Ohio University.
Grant Thornton Adds Chief Communications Officer
Grant Thornton recently added Marci Kaminsky as chief communications officer in its Chicago headquarters. In her new role, Kaminsky will be responsible for managing the firm’s reputation, external and media relations, strategic communications and crisis and issues management. Kaminsky received a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Missouri.
Marks Paneth LLP Acquires Fischer Barr & Wissinger, LLC
Marks Paneth LLP recently acquired Fischer Barr & Wissinger, LLC. The acquisition will help Marks Paneth expand its growing list of offices to include New Jersey. Fischer Barr & Wissinger focuses on tax planning, business and medical practice valuation, litigation support, accounting, auditing and consulting services. Both firms will operate under the Marks Paneth name and Fischer Barr & Wissinger’s founder and co-managing member, Eric Barr, CPA, ABV, CFF, CVA, CFE will be Partner-in-Charge of the valuation practice, part of Marks Paneth’s Litigation and Corporate Financial Advisory Services Group.
