The National Society of Accountants (NSA) 70th Annual Convention and Expo will be held August 19-22, 2015 at the Hyatt Regency Vancouver in Vancouver, British Columbia.
The event will draw accountants and tax professionals from across the United States and Canada, and offers continuing education and networking opportunities.
Leading industry speakers will address critical topics including ethics, practice management, accounting, and risk management, providing up to 14 hours of continuing professional education (CPE).
On August 20, the NSA Business Session will feature Karen Hawkins, who will shortly conclude a six-year stint as the Director of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Office of Professional Responsibility. Two leaders of the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) – NASBA Chairman Walter Davenport and NASBA President and CEO Ken Bishop – will also speak during the session. Other sessions that day include Estate Planning Using Trusts and The Continuing Evolution of Circular 230.
August 21 sessions include SSARS 21 is Coming, U.S. Tax Filing Requirements for International Activities, and U.S.-Canada Cross-Border Tax Considerations.
August 22 sessions include Business Financial Health Checkup and Tax and Accounting Risk Management: Enduring Concerns and Modern Challenges.
NSA is approved as an official provider of CPE by the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA), Internal Revenue Service (IRS), Accreditation Council for Accountancy & Taxation (ACAT) and California Tax Education Council (CTEC).
Social activities will highlight some of unique attractions in Vancouver, including a Vancouver harbor dinner cruise aboard the Magic Spirit on the evening of August 19 to kick off the meeting and an optional tour to Victoria and Butchart Gardens on August 17 for those arriving early. On August 22, attendees and spouses will enjoy a tour of Grouse Mountain and the Capilano Suspension Bridge.
Full conference registration packages are available for $599 for NSA members and $725 for nonmembers (including a full year of NSA membership) until July 15. After that date, member registration is $679 and nonmember registration is $799.
