In what ways have you contributed to your firm/company to make it better?
I have helped with the efforts to get young staff more involved in the community (charitable and civic organizations), assisted with the marketing of our special niche products to the community and I am presently working on new procedures to help with client work flow during busy times.
In what ways do you participate in the professional community to change/improve the accounting profession?
I served as the 2014 president of the Mobile Al Chapter of CPAs and served on the board for several years. Currently, I am a member of the Alabama Society of CPAs Chapter Initiatives Tax Force and I am a member of the Alabama Society of CPAs Leadership Academy.
In what ways do you participate in your local community to help others?
I am involved at my family’s church and my son’s elementary school. This year, I have taught youth through Junior Achievement and the State of Alabama Classroom blitz. Currently, I am in the process of getting the Mobile Chapter of CPAs more involved in Big Brothers Big Sisters and I am also involved with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
What changes do you foresee in the accounting profession of the near future (3-5 years)?
More specialization, a stronger emphasis on international accounting and a continued growth in the way we use technology.
How do you see yourself participating in shaping the future of the accounting profession?
Helping our firm to be in the forefront with integrating technology changes. Utilizing this new technology will help our firm increase the focus on client services and allow us to serve more as advisory and planning consultants to our clients, which will assist them develop greater opportunities for growth and productivity.

Describe one person who has been an important mentor to you and how that person helped change your life.
My Dad; he taught me that treating others well and working hard always pays off.
