CPA Associates International has named Michael Parness as the Association’s next President. Parness began working with Jim Flynn, the Association’s long time President who will retire at the end of the year, on October 12 and will assume the role entirely on January 1, 2016.
CPA Associates International is a leading association of independent CPA and Chartered Accounting firms that provide clients with professional accounting, audit, tax and a variety of consulting services. Their market exclusive organization includes 148 members with over 300 offices in 56 countries throughout the world.
Parness has spent his career in business management positions both in the financial services and accounting industries. At the helm of four distinct businesses, his successes have come as a result of unique strategic and tactical planning. As President of CPAAI, his primary focus will be on growth of the organization while maintaining a culture of best practices and business development both within and among its members.
“I am proud to have been selected as CPAAI’s next President. It is a privilege to be part of a growing organization whose members are driven to provide their clients with nothing but the best in all aspects of accounting services,” Parness said. “I’ve had an opportunity to spend the past month engaging with members of the Association, including Board members and Jim Flynn, and I’m confident that CPAAI’s members are well positioned and eager to lead with innovations and solutions for their clients now and into the future. I will do my best to serve our members by facilitating their goal realization with tools offered by our organization while looking for future growth opportunities.”
The Association’s Search Committee that selected Parness was represented by members of its International Board of Directors, chaired by former North America Region Chairman, Ted Carnevale, Managing Partner of Gramkow, Carnevale, Seifert & Co., LLC of Oradell, New Jersey, and assisted by Allan Koltin, one of the leading consultants to the public accounting profession.
“As Chairman of the CPAAI Search Committee, I’m thrilled that we were able to attract and hire a person of Michael’s caliber”, Carnevale said. “We interviewed many potential candidates and Michael quickly rose to the top of the list. He is a consummate professional with tremendous industry expertise and I’m very excited to work with him. Although we will miss Jim, I’m confident that CPAAI will be well served with Michael at the helm.”
