St. Louis Accounting Firms Brown Smith Wallace and Bergman, Schraier Merge

With the merger, Brown Smith Wallace will have revenue of approximately $40 million entering 2016. As a result of the merger, the firm will have 280 employees and over 100 CPAs.

The St. Louis, Missouri, accounting firms of Brown Smith Wallace and Bergman, Schraier & Co., P.C. will merge effective January 1, 2016. All professional and administrative staff of Bergman, Schraier will accompany the merger, with the combined firms operating under the Brown Smith Wallace name, providing audit, tax and small business consulting services.

With the merger, Brown Smith Wallace will have revenue of approximately $40 million entering 2016. As a result of the merger, the firm will have 280 employees and over 100 CPAs.

Brown Smith Wallace has been serving the St. Louis metropolitan area since 1972. The firm provides audit, tax, accounting, internal audit, benefit plan audit, information technology and security audit, risk management and other professional services to organizations in many industries. The firm has grown to become the sixth-largest public accounting firm in the area and the second largest locally-based firm in Missouri. In 2015, the firm cracked the rankings of the top 100 firms in the country.

Bergman, Schraier & Co., has been providing tax management, accounting services, audits and outsourced accounting and controllership services since 1982. Their clients include a variety of emerging and established corporations, partnerships, trusts and estates in diverse industries – contractors and developers, manufacturers and wholesale distributors, retail outlets, medical practices, not-for-profit organizations, professional and service businesses, real estate and investors. The firm also serves the compliance and consulting needs of many individuals.
