Moore Stephens Names New CEO
Moore Stephens North America, Inc. recently announced the appointment of Tony Szczepaniak as Chief Executive Officer. In his new role, Szczepaniak will be responsible for collaborating with members to attract and serve clients. He will also lead efforts to increase the value of the MSNA brand, as well as strengthen relationships with MSIL and the MSNA position within the global organization. Szczepaniak graduated from Elmhurst College with a degree in Accounting and has a Masters of Tax from DePaul University. He has also completed an Executive MBA Program through the University of Chicago.
Cloud9 Real Time Announces New Vice President of Sales and Marketing
Cloud9 Real Time announced the appointment of Jim Torpey as Vice President of Sales and Marketing. In this new role, he will be responsible for sales and marketing operations, partner and alliance programs. Torpey has more than 17 years of experience working closely with accounting and business organizations to find the most cost-efficient ways to implement new technology. He has extensive knowledge of enterprise cloud solutions, as well as the challenges that businesses face.
Armanino Consulting Partner to Lead Intacct Seminar
Armanino LLP recently announced its consulting partner Lindy Antonelli will moderate the “How Will You Transform Your Business?” panel as part of Intacct’s Tech-Savvy CFO Seminar Series. Armanino is one of three firms in the nation to cohost the series, created to educate companies on the importance of CFOs taking on strategic leadership roles to drive growth. Other speakers include Brian Sommer, founder of TechVentive, who will also offer his perspective on how changes in digital businesses and technology are affecting accounting and finance. Also joining the discussion are several of Armanino’s high-profile local Chicago clients who will share their stories on how each went about their selection process of reducing risk in finance and fueling their extensive growth by moving to the cloud.
Friedman LLP Hires New Partner
Friedman LLP recently announced that Randall Paulikens, CPA.CITP, ABV, CFF has joined the firm as a partner in the Forensic Accounting, Litigation Support and Valuation Services practice. Paulikens has more than 30 years of public accounting experience and has specialized in business valuation, damages, forensic accounting and litigation support. He received his bachelor’s degree in economics from Rutgers University with a minor in Physics. Randy is also a trained mediator (family law) by the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Education, an associate member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, and a frequent author and speaker on topics of forensic accounting, economics, fraud, income taxes and valuation.
Ryan Wins Prestigious International Client Service Excellence “Best of the Best” Award
Ryan was recently awarded two International Client Service Excellence Awards (Best of the Best category for companies and Customer Service CEO of the Year) from the Customer Service Institute of America, a member of the International Council of Customer Service Organizations. Judging for the International Client Service Excellence Awards is based on the International Customer Service Standard, which reviews organizations to determine if the customer is the focus of the business and how that is supported through culture, processes, procedures, training, hiring practices and actions. Chairman and CEO G. Brint Ryan also won the Customer Service CEO of the Year in 2010 and in October, the firm became the first company to ever qualify for recertification of the ICSS Gold Certification from the CSIA. In 2012, Ryan also became the first company ever awarded this three-year accreditation resulting from an extensive review of the firm’s client service and quality management processes.
