Intuit Inc. and CPA Practice Advisor will announce this year’s “Most Powerful Women in Accounting” award winners at Intuit’s QuickBooks Connect, to be held Oct. 24-26 in San Jose, Calif.
The award recognizes female accounting professionals who are role models for leadership, whether through new technologies, practices, workflow or dynamic work environments.
“We are thrilled to be hosting the ceremony for CPA Practice Advisor’s ‘Most Powerful Women in Accounting’ awards for the first time ever at QuickBooks Connect,” said Jim McGinnis, vice president, Intuit Accountant Segment. “We look forward to recognizing the women who are driving our industry forward as the next generation of firm leaders. We urge you to submit a candidate whose leadership has had a successful impact.”
Candidates should show they are the driving force to create a culture of innovation or excellence within an accounting practice. Vendor applicants should highlight how they have helped to develop the technologies that will empower accounting firms and their clients to be more productive and profitable. Submissions are open now and close August 19. An independent panel of judges, comprised of professionals with backgrounds in accounting, will select this year’s Most Powerful Women in the profession.
Now in its fifth year, the “Most Powerful Women in Accounting” awards illuminate the impact women have on the accounting profession. “We are proud and humbled to be sponsors of this award and thrilled to have the opportunity to make the presentations at this year’s QuickBooks Connect, a conference that attracts people from all areas of the accounting profession,” said Gail Perry, CPA, editor-in-chief of CPA Practice Advisor.
The “Most Powerful Women in Accounting” ceremony will take place Monday, Oct. 24, during the Accountant Day Kick-off main stage program that is especially designed for accounting professionals. This is in addition to a packed agenda over three days that includes Shaquille O’Neal, who was recently added to the main stage line-up. Mr. O’Neal joins author Malcolm Gladwell, entrepreneur Bill Rancic, USA Today columnist Rhonda Abrams and Death Wish Coffee owner Mike Brown, winner of this year’s QuickBooks’ Small Business Big Game campaign.
