Accounting software maker Sage has announced the next stage of Sage’s strategic partnership with Salesforce. The company also announced new partnerships with TomTom Telematics and U.S. Bank.
In front of an audience of nearly 15,000 at its Sage Summit conference in Chicago, Sage CEO Stephen Kelly announced that Sage is working hand-in-hand with Salesforce to deliver their award-winning, real-time cloud accounting solution, Sage Live, on the new Salesforce Lightning.
The Salesforce Lightning Experience will bring a reimagined consumer-like experience that is modern, efficient and smart to Sage Live. Relevant information is surfaced for each screen, streamlining processes and making workflows more intuitive. At Sage Summit this week, visitors will be able to experience a demo of Sage Live working on Lightning.
Sage and Salesforce initially launched their global partnership on May 12, 2015. As the partnership grows in strength this year Sage is proud to announce that they won the Salesforce ISV Innovation Award for 2016.
“I’m thrilled to see Sage Live reinvent accounting for SMBs with the power and speed of Salesforce Lightning,” said Adam Seligman EVP and GM of Salesforce App Cloud. “Now SMBs can move faster than ever before to run their business on the world’s #1 enterprise cloud platform.”
As well as setting out his vision to make Sage Live the most innovative cloud accounting platform on the market, Stephen Kelly announced plans to bring real-time accounting to millions of businesses across Europe. Later this year, Sage Live will become available to businesses in France, Germany and Spain.
Sage also demonstrated how its partnership with TomTom Telematics, one of the world’s leading telematics solution providers, will connect Sage Live with the Internet of Things. In an interactive live demo, Sage’s EVP of Product Marketing, Jennifer Warawa, showed how Sage Live works with connected car technology, allowing businesses with fleets of vehicles to record mileage and automate expensing and invoicing. Because it’s real-time, and built on the Salesforce platform, customers will be able to automatically view fleet data in Sage Live.
Thomas Schmidt, Managing Director at TomTom Telematics said: “We know that for businesses, keeping track of vehicle journeys has always been a notoriously difficult task. The combination of Sage Live and connected car technology is therefore a huge step forward in keeping businesses informed, efficient, and in control. With the innovation in this area moving at such pace, we know this is just the start.”
The action-packed day also saw Sage announce its partnership with U.S. Bank, the fifth largest commercial bank in the United States. Working with Sage, the bank has been able to develop a new tool built on the Sage Live cloud accounting platform, designed to give businesses a smarter way to manage their cash flow.
The AP Optimizer developed by U.S. Bank works directly with Sage Live to determine the best time to pay and the best method of paying. As well as providing recommendations, it enables businesses to act on them. Clients can see what payments cost, get advice on how to lower them, and act on recommendations anywhere, any time, on any device.
“The AP Optimizer is just the first step into a new future of capabilities built on integration between payments and accounting,” said Bradley Matthews, head of Middle Market Product & Marketing for U.S. Bank Corporate Payment Systems. “By showing the projected cash flow from both payables and receivables, the user quickly sees how to maximize their working capital and avoid ‘crunch times’ of late payments and loss of ‘float’.”
Following his keynote, Sage CEO Stephen Kelly said “Last year at Sage Summit in New Orleans, visitors were able to demo Sage Live for the first time and discover the possibilities of real-time accounting. This is the next important step to anytime, anywhere real-time cloud accounting”.
We’re committed to delivering tomorrow’s technology to the entrepreneurs, the true heroes of the economy and that’s why our strategic partnership with Salesforce means so much to us. It allows us to innovate faster.
Not only this, it also helps us to work with partners like TomTom Telematics and U.S. Bank to connect Sage Live to the technology and devices people already use to help run their businesses. This empowers them to make decisions quicker, and operate at the speed of now.”
Sage Summit takes place this week from July 25 through 28 in Chicago, during which time the event will host more than 15,000 visitors, and celebrity speakers from around the world. You can find out all about the world’s largest gathering for entrepreneurs and business builders at here.
