CohnReznick Partner Elected Treasurer of National Leased Housing Association
CohnReznick LLP recently announced Karen Smith, CPA has been elected as Treasurer of the Board of the National Leased Housing Association. Smith is a partner in CohnReznick’s Boston office and a member of its Affordable Housing Industry Practice. She has more than 25 years of audit, tax and management advisory experience. Smith specializes in affordable housing and has worked with numerous real estate entities and not-for-profit organizations. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Akron.
Grant Thornton Adds New Members
Grant Thornton LLP recently announced the following additions: Mark Quiroz, CPA, managing director, Tax Accounting Risk Advisory Services; Jennifer Mannino, director, Forensic, Investigative and Dispute Services; and Donald Corbett, CPA, market territory managing partner, Pacific Northwest. Quiroz has more than 20 years of public accounting and management consulting experience, specializing in operational effectiveness of corporate tax functions. His expertise includes tax accounting, compliance process improvement and tax sensitization of enterprise resource planning systems. Quiroz graduated from Northern Illinois University with his bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
In her new role, Mannino will be responsible for overseeing the firm’s global corporate intelligence initiatives. Her areas of focus include international and domestic intelligence gathering and investigative strategy, third-party risk compliance, complex litigation and investigative due diligence. Mannino is a certified Leading Professional in Ethics and Compliance and is certified in Change Management under the Prosci ADKAR® Model. Mannino received her master’s of business administration degree in Global Management from the University of Phoenix and her bachelor’s degree in communications from Fordham University. She is currently pursuing her doctoral degree in organizational leadership through Grand Canyon University.
Corbett will lead Grant Thornton’s offices in Seattle, Bellevue, Washington, Portland, Oregon, and Anchorage, Alaska. He will also oversee the firm’s Pacific Northwest Audit, Tax and Advisory service lines, as well as client service, growth and talent development across the four offices. Corbett has nearly 26 years of corporate, partnership and personal tax planning and compliance services experience. He graduated from Brigham Young University with his bachelor’s degree and Master of Tax degree.
Moore Colson Announces Peak Award Winners
Moore Colson recently announced that Samantha Scott (Tax Senior Associate), Adam Bateman (Tax Senior Manager), Sarah Boehmig (Business Assurance Senior Associate) and Chris Fagan (Business Assurance Senior Manager) were all winners of its 2016 first trimester Peak Award. The Moore Colson Peak Award is awarded to individuals that have made a significant contribution to the firm, performed work that is considered above and beyond expectations or made a significant impact to the firm through a unique effort or initiative.
