Georgia CPA Society Awards $115k in Scholarships and Institutional Support

Students were selected based on their commitment to pursuing a career in accounting, academic performance and achievements. An additional $3,000 in institutional support was granted by GSCPA chapters for a grand total of $115,333.

The Educational Foundation of The Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants (GSCPA) recently announced its scholarship award recipients for the 2017-18 academic year. Scholarships ranging from $1,300-$5,000, for a total of $112,333, were awarded to over 50 accounting students from 15 different Georgia universities and colleges.

Students were selected based on their commitment to pursuing a career in accounting, academic performance and achievements. An additional $3,000 in institutional support was granted by GSCPA chapters for a grand total of $115,333.

“Foundation programs raise awareness of the CPA profession while educating students about the value of a career as a CPA,” shared Beverly Smith, CPA, CFE, CGMA, president of The Educational Foundation.

Established in 1957, the Foundation, helps students achieve their goals of becoming CPAs by identifying the best and brightest individuals entering the profession and providing those individuals with the help needed to complete their education.
