As cybersecurity weighs heavily on the minds of organizations across Canada and the globe, Grant Thornton LLP has launched its Cybersecurity Awareness and Testing services, to support their clients’ ability to detect, respond, prevent and recover from cyber-attacks.
Grant Thornton Cybersecurity Awareness and Testing services offers small, medium and enterprise-sized businesses the ability to identify specific threats facing their organizations and industries. The new capability is designed to define a sound cybersecurity strategy; and helps to implement the governance structure necessary to better defend valuable intellectual property, customer data and information assets. In the event of a data breach, Grant Thornton leverages national experience and capabilities to guide clients through all aspects of the breach—from investigation to remediation.

Cyber-attacks are taking a serious toll on businesses globally. The Grant Thornton International Business Report (IBR), a global survey of 2,500 business leaders in 35 economies, reveals that more than one in six businesses surveyed faced a cyber-attack in the past year. With high-profile security breaches and hacks becoming more prevalent, nearly half of respondents are putting themselves in the firing line with no comprehensive strategy to prevent digital crime.
