W-2/1099 Forms Filer is a good solution for businesses and accounting professionals that offer year-end form filing and compliance for their clients. W-2 and 1099 Forms Filer is part of Advanced Micro Solutions (AMS) suite of products which also includes AMS Payroll and E-Filer.

W-2/1099 Forms Filer is designed to be installed on a desktop or laptop computer and can also be installed on multiple desktop systems or onto a network, if desired. Each application is sold separately, though users will need to purchase the W-2/1099 Forms Filer module in order to utilize the other modules offered. W-2/1099 Forms Filer supports up to 1,999 payers or employers.

W-2/1099 Forms Filer supports all common year-end forms including W-2, W-2C, W-3, all 1099 forms, 1096, 1098, 5498, and 1042S and also supports Puerto Rico forms including PRR-3, PRW-2, PRW – 2C, and others. W-2/1099 Forms Filer will support up to 1,999 separate payers, and up to 99,999 employees per payer, making it a good choice for firms that process a high number of client year-end forms. The user interface is designed to mirror the form being processed, so users can process forms quickly. Users can also import data from a variety of applications including QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel as well as from form print files, Comma Delimited, Tab Delimited Text files, Federal 1099 MAG File and Federal W-2 MAG File.              W-2/1099 Forms Filer also creates a Social Security number verification file that will verify employee Social Security numbers with SSA.

W-2/1099 Forms Filer is designed to print using pre-printed forms, though AMS does offer an add-on module that allows users to print forms using blank paper. Conveniently, users can also create PDF’s of all forms and email the PDF to clients for easy distribution, if desired. Users will need to purchase the optional E-Filer module to electronically file all year-end compliance forms with the appropriate agency.  

W-2/1099 Forms Filer is the core product from AMS, with users required to use the product in order to access any of the other applications from AMS, which include Software Generated Forms, Advanced Micro Solutions Payroll, E-Filer, and Forms Filer Plus. W-2/1099 Forms Filer can also be used as a stand-alone year-end compliance application as well.

All current product updates and utility downloads can be accessed directly from the AMS website. Customer support is also accessible directly from the AMS website, with users able to access the Support Knowledgebase and FAQ’s directly from the website as well. There is also access to all form instructions and their corresponding publications. Users can also contact AMS support personnel via telephone or through a Contact Support option available on the website. Users can also access a software manual for quick reference as well.

Well suited for businesses and accounting firms that process a large number of year-end compliance forms, W-2/1099 Forms Filer can be used as a stand-alone application or with other AMS applications. W-2/1099 Forms Filer is available from AMS for $79.00 and is required in order to use any of the other AMS applications which include AMS Payroll, E-File Direct, ACA Filer, and Software Generated Forms, which are all priced separately.
