Career Highlights:
I helped a lot of closely held businesses start up, cope with growing pains and become more successful. I think that has been the biggest accomplishment – I always look fondly back on my client interactions and seeing them change and grow over the time I was privileged to spend with them. I have also been able to coach, mentor and guide CPAs from across the country through courses I have facilitated and interactions I’ve had via the AICPA.
What are you doing to make a difference in the profession, your community, the world?
I try and illustrate in my day to day life doing the right thing and standing for what is right. I connect others with those that can help them out the most – whether that is introducing a set of new parents to people who went through the same.
Favorite books/websites/speakers that you find influential: I’ve really enjoyed reading and hearing more from Adam Grant – I think he has an interesting view of work place culture and psychology.
What do you see yourself doing professionally in 10 years? Whatever is relevant in helping move forward the accounting profession.
What accounting conferences do you normally attend? AICPA Engage, Emerging Partners Forum, Digital CPA.
What websites/magazines do you use to keep up on news of the accounting profession? AccountingToday, CPA Practice Advisor, Inside Public Accounting.
