Rea & Associates Inc., a regional accounting and business consulting firm, officially merged in the Wooster, Ohio-based firm, Dyer Roche & Company, Inc., on Nov. 1, 2020. The single, stronger practice will include more than 300 professionals who are positioned to serve clients throughout Ohio.
“We are excited for the opportunity to bring our two firms together,” said Don McIntosh, CPA, CEO of Rea & Associates. “This merger supports Rea’s strategic growth plan and Dyer Roche’s succession plan. Combining our firms will better position us to provide accounting, auditing, tax, and business consulting services in East Central Ohio and beyond.”
Formed in 2001, Dyer Roche specializes in providing accounting, assurance, tax, and advisory services in Wooster, Millersburg, Medina, and the surrounding communities. The firm’s employees were known for providing individuals and local businesses with a range of services including tax preparation, tax filing, tax planning, bookkeeping, estate and trust taxes, and more. The merger will add 15 new team members to the Rea & Associates team roster, including three principals: Richard Dyer, Cathy Roche, and Bert Humpal.
“People are our top priority, and we do business by putting people first – including our team, our clients, and members of our community. The same is true at Rea. We decided to move forward with the merger with Rea because their culture aligned so well with ours,” explained Richard Dyer, CPA, partner of Dyer Roche. “Together, we look forward to uniting our traditions of experience, service, and stewardship. Moreover, I’m confident that our decision to unite will position us to provide all of our clients with an even greater experience.”
Construction is underway on a new building in Wooster that will house the firms’ local teams, with completion expected in late spring or early summer 2021. Until then, Rea and Dyer Roche will maintain their individual offices in Wooster, at 545 N. Market St. and 121 N. Market St., respectively. Dyer Roche’s Medina team will move into Rea’s office at 694 E. Washington St. on or around Nov. 1, and its Millersburg team will move into Rea’s office at 212 N. Washington St. around the same time.
“If you’ve worked with the Dyer Roche team in the past, you’ll be glad to learn that this merger will have no impact on your fee structure or on the quality of service you receive,” said Dyer. “Our client service teams will stay intact and you will continue to receive the stellar service we’ve always taken great pride in providing. Only now, we will be able to offer a wider array and greater depth of services.”
