The accounting, tax, audit and advisory firm of Friedman LLP has announced that Neil Levine and Lee Sheilds will serve as co-managing partners of the firm’s South Jersey offices, effective January 1, 2021.

The incoming co-managing partners reflect the substantive breadth of Friedman’s technical capabilities, as well as the firm’s commitment to collaboration. Working closely with current managing partner Carl Bagell, who will oversee the transition, Mr. Levine and Mr. Sheilds will assume responsibility for the South Jersey offices, including their strategic goals, performance and day-to-day activities, among other areas.

“The success of this office reflects Carl’s passion and dedication,” said Mr. Levine, who has been partners with Carl for 22 years. “Lee and I will do our best to live up to the high standards he has set.” Mr. Sheilds added that “It’s an honor to work alongside Carl and the team he has built here, and we’re excited to help guide the growth of the firm’s South Jersey offices.”

Mr. Levine, a partner in the audit practice with 30 years of experience, oversees client engagements involving both private and public companies. He has contributed to the major growth of the Firm’s Public Company Practice through his industry relationships and expertise working with companies preparing to go public.

Mr. Sheilds, a partner in Friedman’s tax practice, specializes in accounting and tax compliance. His diversified practice spans virtually every high-value sector, with a particular emphasis on income planning and tax preparation for corporations, partnerships and individuals, including their representation before state and federal authorities. “Lee and Neil represent the best of the firm,” said Carl Bagell, partner and current South Jersey managing partner. “Their incredible skill will go a long way toward the continued growth of the Firm and the reputation we have.”

Neil is heavily involved with various non-profit organizations in South Jersey, where he has helped run some of the area’s largest fundraisers. He is also a member of the Union League of Philadelphia. Lee is similarly engaged in giving back as a board of trustees member and treasurer of Samaritan, as well as board member and treasurer of LeTip of Cherry Hill, a local chapter of one of the world’s largest professional leads networks.
