Three state chapters of the National Association of Tax Professionals (NATP) will celebrate major milestones in 2021: the New Mexico NATP chapter is celebrating 25 years as a chapter; the Maine NATP chapter is celebrating 25 years as a chapter; and the Virginia NATP chapter is celebrating its 30-year anniversary as a chapter.

State chapters exist to provide local networking and an opportunity for tax preparers to learn more their state-specific tax issues. Each chapter manages their own activities and education and is managed by a state governing body and committee member volunteers. There are 41 individual state chapters that are active within NATP. The New Mexico chapter has 113 members, the Maine chapter has 145 members and the Virginia chapter has 672 members. NATP members dedicate themselves to continued education and a high code of ethics and professional conduct.

“We are so proud of the longevity and contributions of each of these chapter,” said Jennifer Van Elzen, director of member services and analytics. “Serving members at the local level is critical to the success of this organization and our New Mexico, Maine and Virginia chapters demonstrate a great amount of success.”
