The New Jersey Society of CPAs (NJCPA) is accepting nominations for its annual Ovation Awards which acknowledge outstanding individuals who work in or support New Jersey’s accounting profession. The seven categories of awards include: Emerging Leaders; Diversity, Equity & Inclusion; Innovation; Exceptional Educators; Women to Watch; Impact; and Lifetime Leader.

The awards shine a spotlight on those individuals who have made a significant contribution to the accounting profession this year, the past few years or over a lifetime, are currently leading by example, have furthered the success of female CPAs, mentored the next generation, or helped open the door for more diverse and equitable workplaces.

“This year more than ever we seek to name those individuals who have gone above and beyond in their daily roles. In such trying times, the pandemic taught us many things about ourselves, our families, colleagues, staff, members, customers and our community. The awards are a way to applaud those who have been selfless, innovative and care deeply about the accounting profession,” said Ralph Albert Thomas, CPA (DC), CGMA, CEO and executive director at NJCPA.

Nominations are being accepted until Monday, May 3. Multiple entries are allowed, as are self-nominations. Only NJCPA members are eligible for the Emerging Leader, Women to Watch and Lifetime Leader categories, but nonmembers are eligible for the other awards.

Winners will be announced on June 17 during the NJCPA’s Annual Business Meeting at its Virtual Convention, which will take place June 15-18. For more information about the awards and to submit a nomination, go to njcpa.org/ovation.
