Accounting Firm PBMares Names New Partners

PBMares, LLP, a Top 100 accounting and consulting firm based in Newport News, VA, elected two new tax partners to the Firm. Ronald H. Pachino and Tracey Powell were each promoted to Partner, effective January 1, 2021.

PBMares, LLP, a Top 100 accounting and consulting firm based in Newport News, VA, elected two new tax partners to the Firm. Ronald H. Pachino and Tracey Powell were each promoted to Partner, effective January 1, 2021.

“I am pleased for both Ronnie and Tracey on their accomplishments of achieving Partner at the Firm,” said Harvey L. Johnson, Partner and CEO of PBMares. “They are steadfast in their commitments to serving clients and I am excited for the growth potential of the Firm with Ronnie and Tracey as our newest partners.

Pachino has nearly 36 years of experience, the past five with PBMares, in advising clients who are navigating tax and accounting laws and regulations, business valuations of closely held companies, and financial statement preparation in the commercial and residential construction, development, distribution, retail, hospitality and government sectors. His area of focus is helping clients and their attorneys in business valuations and litigation support, including civil litigation, family law, bankruptcy, estate and gift tax, mergers and acquisitions, business loss compensation, dissenting shareholder cases, economic loss calculations and resolutions, and international mediation matters.

Pachino is secretary of the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA) forensic and valuation services committee and board member of Congregation Ohr Hatorah. Mr. Pachino is a graduate of Towson University and received his MBA from Loyola University Maryland. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and MACPA.

Powell has 32 years of experience in public accounting and has been with PBMares since 2019.  Her focus has been advising clients on ever-changing tax regulations and how they can navigate these financial complexities to improve and grow their businesses. She pulls on her years of tax compliance and consulting experience, including partnership taxation, to advise and guide clients with private-equity real estate transactions, real estate investment trust (REIT) structuring and taxation, partnership restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, forecasting and succession planning. 

Powell is board secretary and finance committee member of Baltimore Outreach Services, a member of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra’s Planned Giving Council and a board member for Off-The-Grid Missions. She is a double graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, having received Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Master of Science in Taxation degrees. She is a member of the AICPA, MACPA, Virginia Society of CPAs (VSCPA), and Commercial Real Estate Development Association (NAIOP).

Both are based in the Baltimore area and Powell also works in the Firm’s Rockville office.
