Jennifer Briggs, CAE, president and CEO of the Indiana CPA Society, announced she is leaving after nearly 20 years with the association. She will be taking the helm as executive vice president/chief executive officer at the Texas Society of Architects effective June 14, 2021.

Briggs joined the INCPAS staff in 2002 as the special projects manager and subsequently served as marketing manager, marketing director, director of member services, vice president – member services, senior vice president, and chief operating officer. In 2018, Briggs made history as the first female president & CEO in the Society’s 105-year history.

Briggs has been dedicated to helping Indiana CPAs envision and plan for the future throughout her tenure. Under her leadership, the Society has placed an increased focus on emerging technologies and its role in transforming the skillsets necessary for success as the profession’s future services evolve and expand. As a result, Society members are well positioned to transition into a post-COVID world and shape the future of the profession for the better.

“Jennifer’s ability to take abstract ideas from the board room then turn them into actionable and measurable programs for the staff and membership is a skill not easily duplicated,” says INCPAS Chair Erland Porter, CPA. “I cannot speak highly enough of the value she brought to our Society and the profession.” Her successor — current Vice President – Strategic Initiatives Courtney Kincaid, CAE, IOM — will begin serving as president & CEO effective June 12, 2021. Kincaid has been with the Society since 2006 and has worked closely with Briggs and the board.

“Courtney brings talent in many areas and is well prepared to take on this role,” said INCPAS Chair-elect, Barry Hall, CPA, CGMA. “We are fortunate that the Society is blessed with a tremendous staff and are very confident in their ability to continue to be a valuable resource to Indiana CPAs during this transition period.”
