Nathan Wechsler & Company Announces New Board Member
The regional accounting firm of Nathan Wechsler & Company, PA recently announced that Cassidy Huckins has been voted onto the board of trustees of Red River Theatres. Huckins will also serve as a member of the Financial Committee.
A member of the Nathan Wechsler & Company team since 2019, Huckins currently serves as an associate. In this role, she performs a variety of work for clients, including accounting, auditing, compliance, financial statement preparation, and special projects. Huckins is a graduate of Southern New Hampshire University. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, with a minor in criminal justice.

Katelyn Woods Named Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants Rising Star
Whitley Penn Audit Manager, Katelyn Woods, has been named as the 2020-2021 Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants (TXCPA) Rising Star.
The TXCPA Rising Star Award annually recognizes a TXCPA member at the age of 40 and under. This award recognizes the member’s demonstrated exemplary leadership skills and active involvement in TXCPA, the accounting profession and his or her local communities.
Woods has more than seven years of audit public accounting experience focused on private companies. Her experience focuses on private clients primarily in the energy, manufacturing and distribution, not-for-profit, and employee benefit plans industries.
Locally, Woods serves as a member of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants (TXCPA), the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), and the University of North Texas Accounting Junior Advisory Board. Woods also serves on the board of directors for the TXCPA Fort Worth Chapter.
Woods received her B.S. and M.S. in Accounting from the University of North Texas.
AICPA Recognizes Five Individuals with 2021 Outstanding Young CPA Award
The American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) has recognized five practicing CPAs with the 2021 AICPA Outstanding Young CPA Award in Honor of Maximo Mukelabai. The announcement was made on the Young CPA Network Facebook page.
The annual award, now in its tenth year, recognizes CPAs under age 41 who personify a commitment to the profession, as demonstrated through successful practices and involvement in and contributions to the interest of the accounting profession. This is the first year in which more than one person was selected for the honor.

Jaclyn T. Badeau, CPA, CGMA, MBA, president of Badeau Consulting in Richmond, KY
A 2013 graduate of the AICPA’s Leadership Academy, Jaclyn has been incredibly active with the Kentucky Society of CPAs, serving in several volunteer and board positions.
Aaron Clayton, CPA, CGMA, partner with Eide Bailly LLP in Sioux Falls, SD
Aaron is a committed member of the South Dakota CPA Society, where he has served several volunteer and board positions, and he continually finds ways to help his community and the profession.
Jessica E. McClain, CPA, controller with Brand USA in Washington DC
Jessica is an active volunteer with AICPA, serving on several committees and speaking at conferences, and the AICPA Leadership Academy graduate helps other young CPAs through the AICPA Mentoring Program.
Erin E. Roche, CPA, CGMA, team leader with Elliott CPA Group in Santa Rosa, CA
Erin volunteers on several AICPA and California Society of CPAs committees and was co-chair of the AICPA’s EDGE Conference Task Force.

Nathan Wechsler & Company Announces New Tax Manager
The regional accounting firm of Nathan Wechsler & Company, PA recently announced the addition of Michael J. Stevens, CPA as tax manager. Stevens specializes in partnerships and S corporations, multistate taxation, mergers and acquisitions, tax compliance and consulting, and high-net-worth individual taxation.
A graduate of Florida Atlantic University, Stevens holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and a Master of Taxation. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Accountants and the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants. When not working, Stevens enjoys cooking, spending time with his family, and taking his Golden Retrievers on long walks.
Rea & Associates Names New CEO
After conducting a lengthy selection process to determine who would lead Rea & Associates, a Top 100 CPA and business consulting firm, over the coming years, Mark McKinley, CPA, was chosen as the firm’s sixth CEO. The Rea & Associates’ board of directors appointed McKinley to serve in this capacity after concluding a comprehensive selection phase. He will formally step into the CEO role on Nov. 1, 2022.
McKinley joined Rea & Associates as a staff accountant in 1994 and quickly grew through the ranks to become a principal, and later the Rea & Associates’ West Central Ohio regional president in 2017. As regional president he oversees the firm’s Dublin and Lima locations as well as the federal tax, state and local tax, business valuation, and construction segments and service lines. McKinley has also served two three-year terms on Rea’s board of directors.
KSM Welcomes Sarah Richmond as Director in Fort Wayne
Katz, Sapper & Miller, a leading consulting, tax, and audit firm, recently announced that Sarah Richmond has joined the firm as the newest director in its growing Fort Wayne office. In addition to bringing an impressive array of consultative client service skills, Richmond will help to lead strategic planning, staff development, recruiting, and business development efforts in Fort Wayne.
As a member of the firm’s Audit & Assurance Services Group, Richmond will help clients navigate the ever-changing environment of financial reporting and accounting standards, working to ensure they are up to date on best practices and operational controls in order to make profitable business decisions. She will oversee audits and other engagements for clients in a wide variety of industries, including manufacturing, services, construction, and real estate.
A certified public accountant, Richmond graduated summa cum laude from Manchester University with a Bachelor of Science degree in financial accounting.
Prior to joining KSM, Richmond spent nine years with one of the largest Indiana-based certified public accounting and business consulting firms, where she most recently worked as a senior audit manager.
