Career Highlights
At CPAClub it is our mission to make the CPA world better. So, I’m proud to say our modern subscription-based talent solution for CPA firms continues to be a highlight for me as we are helping several of our member CPA firms get stuff done amidst a talent crisis. But personally, the biggest highlight for me this past year was the development and launch of CPAClub One, a game-changing assisted entrepreneurship model designed to address the CPA pipeline problem. CPAClub One offers CPAs an entirely new career path, enabling them to leverage their credentials more swiftly than in a traditional large firm and to enjoy the rewards of entrepreneurship without the risks of starting from scratch. CPAs will benefit from a highly autonomous ability to build client relationships and manage delivery of assurance services, with a playbook to achieve their own goals in a faster and more fulfilling way.
What are you doing to make a difference in the profession, your community, the world?
Outside of CPAClub, I currently serve as a member of the CalCPA AP&AS State Committee, where we discuss current issues pertaining to accounting, reporting and assurance related matters. The Committee is the voice of CalCPA when it comes to proposed changes to standards affecting accounting & assurance services. I also find passion in coaching my sons’ youth sports teams for both basketball and soccer. It’s important the help the youth learn the essential skills such as teamwork, discipline and leadership which can significantly benefit them in pursuing their life goals, which could possibly be a career as a CPA.
Current Professional Reading / Listening
SQMS 1. I am partially joking, but it is true. I am also reading “The Boys in the Boat” which I believe is a movie produced by George Clooney as well. It is about the US rowing team that won gold at the 1936 Berlin Olympics. I like reading inspiring stories about how hard work, determination, teamwork, and leadership can result in success. As a leader at CPAClub and in the community, I am always looking for ways to improve and promote teamwork and collaboration.
