Career Highlights
Over the last year I’ve contributed to over 15 articles, maintained our practice revenue while also maintaining and decreasing our practice hours. I’ve been a part of 5 networking and mentoring groups with other female accountants and advised regularly on the growth of their firms. I’ve recently volunteered for subgroups for the Nebraska Soecity of CPAs and look forward to my assignment.

What are you doing to make a difference in the profession, your community, the world?
I am working to encourage younger individuals to enter the profession by showing the flexibility that can exist to a demographic that values work/life balance. I speak to highschool students in finance classes and my alma mater’s entrepreneurial class. I work within social media to highligh the pros and cons of accounting, taxes and bring expertise to the ongoing discussions. I also regularly appear in articles as a subject matter expert to help make sure that accurate information makes it to the community at large.

Current Professional Reading / Listening
A variety of items! Podcast wise I love Oh My Fraud and The Indicator from Planet Money. I’m also listening to 10x is better then 2x and  Wintering- two different but somewhat aligned books – about doing more in what we love and less everywhere else. And then Simple Numbers 2.0.
