John Sapp has served in a key role at Drake Software since 1995, including chief financial officer, chief revenue officer, and vice president of the Sales, Marketing, and Education divisions. John holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Oral Roberts University and an Executive MBA from the University of Tennessee, and he has been a certified public accountant since 1989. As a CPA, John has considerable experience in public and private accounting for the technology industry.

LaDonna Keener, CPA has been a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the state of North Carolina since 1997. With 20 years of experience in public accounting and 16 years in tax software development, she has a deep understanding of accounting and tax companies’ needs and utilizes that knowledge to develop a quality tax preparation product. 

In her current role as Federal Tax Manager at Drake Software, LaDonna is responsible for leading the federal tax development team as they develop program enhancements and update the software annually to reflect the fluid tax environment. She is known for her extensive tax knowledge, attention to detail, and ability to drive results. 

LaDonna holds an Associate of Arts Degree from Oxford College of Emory University. She is passionate about keeping up-to-date on tax changes and devotes much of her time to enhancing that understanding. In her free time, LaDonna enjoys traveling with family and friends, reading, and, of course, spending quality time with her grandchildren. 

Robert Nolan, EA, CPA, CTFL is not only a specialist in taxation and a Certified Software Tester, he’s a seasoned expert with a deep understanding of professional tax preparers’ needs.  Using a detailed but customer-focused approach, Bob analyzes new tax forms and keeps Drake’s 1040 product aligned with the latest tax regulations.   
When it comes to Drake Software, Bob is passionate about ensuring that customers have an accurate, user-friendly experience. A true team player with 17 years of experience in software development, he often assists colleagues with projects outside his regular job duties, such as helping the Drake Education team create CPE classes and web content.   
Bob holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Northern Illinois University. In his free time, he enjoys reading and watching classic and not-so-classic movies, particularly Japanese sci-fi movies that feature giant radioactive monsters.

Gail Perry is the editor-in-chief of CPA Practice Advisor. A veteran of accounting journalism, she also speaks at many accounting events, trade shows, and webinars. Gail is the author of over 30 books (including Mint.com For DummiesThe Idiot’s Guide to Introductory Accounting, and Surviving Financial Downsizing: A Practical Guide to Living Well on Less Income), and she maintains a small tax practice. Gail is a graduate of Indiana University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism. She returned to school to study accounting at Illinois State University, earned her CPA, and worked for Deloitte in Chicago for several years as a state and local tax accountant. She has taught introductory accounting and personal finance courses, and she is a former computer applications instructor at the Indiana CPA Society. Gail is a member of the AICPA’s PFS Credential Committee.
