Prosperity Partners Adds Wiener and Garg in Maryland

The Chicago-based accounting firm has made several acquisitions since receiving private equity funding from Unity Partners last year.

Coming on the heels of its acquisition of Cendrowski Corporate Advisors a couple of weeks ago, private equity backed tax and accounting firm Prosperity Partners said on Oct. 1 that it has acquired Wiener and Garg, a Rockville MD-based tax preparation, planning, advisory, and accounting firm.

Financial terms of the deal weren’t disclosed. The move establishes Prosperity’s presence in the Washington, D.C., area.

Founded in 1980 and led by the firm’s partners Subhash Garg and Vikesh Bansal, both of whom will remain actively involved with the business, W&G serves high-net-worth individuals and business clients in industries such as real estate and real estate construction, software development, legal services, and franchisers.

“We are delighted to officially partner with the entire W&G team and welcome them to the Prosperity Partners family,” Jeremy Dubow, CEO and co-founder of Chicago-based Prosperity, said in a statement. “Subhash and Vikesh are both outstanding individuals, and we’re confident that our alignment on premier client service and key service offerings will make W&G a great addition to the Prosperity platform.”

Founded in 2003 as NDH Advisors by three Arthur Andersen alums, Prosperity Partners last year received an equity investment from Unity Partners, a Dallas-based private equity firm. Since then, Prosperity Partners has added offices in Kansas CityHouston, Philadelphia, Santa Barbara, CA, Detroit, and Washington, D.C.

Prosperity Partners serves businesses, high net-worth individuals, and family offices throughout the U.S. The firm provides tax advisory, tax consulting, tax preparation, valuation, outsourced back-office accounting, fractional CFO, litigation support, and startup business services.

All W&G employees will become part of Prosperity’s Employee Purpose Plan, a broad-based employee ownership program that allows qualifying employees to benefit from the firm’s success.

“It’s a true honor to launch this partnership and we look forward to leveraging our firm’s decades of experience to help strengthen and deliver high-quality service to all Prosperity clients,” Garg and Bansal said in a joint statement. “Throughout our meetings with Jeremy and the Prosperity group, their people-first, team-oriented culture and extensive expertise within the tax and accounting industry resonated with us, and we’re excited to be joining such a well-established organization.”
