KPMG Announces New Leaders

KPMG recently announced that Rob Fisher, who has been leading KPMG’s sustainability practice, is moving to a new role as the US Consulting Sector Leader for Financial Services and Insurance. Maura Hodge will be taking over as the new KPMG US Sustainability Leader.

Rob Fisher

Rob Fisher is the US leader for KPMG’s Financial Services Consulting business and the US Consulting Sector Leader for Insurance.  Previously, Rob has served as KPMG’s US Sustainability leader and Global Executive Sponsor of KPMG’s Trusted market proposition, including Trusted AI. In these roles, he has focused on helping organizations build increasing levels of trust with their stakeholders, including customers, employees, investors, regulators, business partners, and the communities they operate in. Rob brings more than 30 years of experience serving clients across these various domains with a particular personal background in risk consulting within the Financial Services industry.

Maura Hodge

Maura Hodge is the U.S. Sustainability Leader for KPMG based in KPMG’s Boston Office. In this role, Maura is focused on helping clients create long-term value while building a more sustainable, resilient future for all. She will bring the best of KPMG’s integrated, cross-functional expertise, industry-specific insights, and global

reach with localized knowledge to offer comprehensive solutions that drive both environmental and economic value.

She has more than a decade of experience providing sustainability reporting and assurance services coupled with nearly 20 years of experience providing audit and internal control opinions on financial information.

Grant Thornton’s Kelly Schindler Named to Manufacturers Association Board of Directors

he National Association of Manufacturers recently announced that Kelly Schindler, national managing principal of manufacturing at Grant Thornton Advisors LLC and audit partner at Grant Thornton LLP, has been named to the NAM Board of Directors. Schindler joins the NAM Board to bolster the association’s leadership in policy advocacy, legal action, workforce solutions and operational excellence. She will help the industry advance a manufacturing competitiveness agenda that promotes opportunity and prosperity for all Americans.   Founded in 1895, the NAM, guided by its Board of Directors, is the largest industrial trade association in the United States. The NAM is the nation’s most influential manufacturing advocate, and its membership includes some of the world’s most iconic brands and many of the small manufacturers that power the U.S. economy.   The NAM and its members are at the forefront of every important policy debate, focusing on solutions to help the industry compete in the global economy and to help the country address challenges ranging from supply disruptions and inflation to the workforce crisis, immigration, permitting, tax policy and energy security

PKF O’Connor Davies Welcomes Donald Melody as Partner

PKF O’Connor Davies, one of the nation’s largest accounting, tax and advisory practices, recently announced that it has hired Donald (Don) Melody as Partner. Melody joins the organization’s Public Company and Financial Services practice areas with over two decades of experience conducting and supporting audits and providing consulting advice to broker-dealers, including prior service as a Branch Chief with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and an Inspections Leader for the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB).

Melody most recently served as the practice leader for a global advisory firm’s broker-dealer audit advisory service line. There, he supported PCAOB-registered audit firms during PCAOB inspections and enforcement investigations, in addition to providing Quality Management and Quality Control advisory services. Prior to that, he managed audits of broker-dealers, hedge funds, NFA funds and NFA introducing brokers as the audit director for a regional accounting firm based in Illinois.

Melody graduated magna cum laude from St. Xavier University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Fraud Examiner.
