Blue & Co. Merges in Mellen, Smith, and Pivoz
The combination, effective Nov. 1, enables the Carmel, IN-based top 60 accounting firm to expand into the Detroit market.

Top 60 accounting firm Blue & Co. has expanded into the Detroit market after combining with Mellen, Smith, and Pivoz (MS&P), a full-service accounting and advisory firm based in Bingham Farms, MI, effective Nov. 1.
Carmel, IN-based Blue & Co. has added three partners—Jason Pivoz, Jeffry Campeau, and Mark Smith—and more than 20 employees from MS&P.
“Expanding into a new market like Michigan is a pivotal step for our firm,” Brad Shaw, managing director of Blue & Co., said in a statement. “The combination of Blue and MS&P represents a union of two like-minded firms that share the same core values and commitment to strategic growth, client service, and a people-centric culture. We are excited to get started and are confident that our combined resources will drive significant value and success for both our clients and our people.”
Founded in 1971, MS&P provides services such as tax planning and compliance, advisory and consulting, business valuation, forensic and fraud investigation, auditing, reviews and compilations, and estate, financial, and retirement planning, according to the firm’s LinkedIn page.
