CPA Practice Advisor has opened the nomination period for one of its most prestigious awards. The Most Powerful Women in Accounting Awards, now in their 12th year, were created by CPA Practice Advisor to promote and support the success of women leaders as part of its broader mission of sustaining the profession. There are no costs associated with nominations or award recognition.

“It’s important for women considering a career in accounting to have women role models, women they can look up to who are leading the charge, who they can see themselves being,” said Gail Perry, editor-in chief of CPA Practice Advisor. “For this reason, we are delighted to give women leaders more visibility and celebrate their accomplishments. We’re excited to open the nominations for the 2025 Most Powerful Women in Accounting.”
Candidates can be nominated by their peers, and recipients are then selected by a group of independent judges using the following criteria:
- Over the last year, she has had an active role in innovation and excellence within her organization.
- She is recognized as one of the top leaders in the accounting profession.
- She is a mentor, a sponsor and/or a role model, and someone who stands out in her ability to encourage and help those around her thrive and flourish
- She has made noteworthy contributions to the future of the profession in the last year.
- She represents the accounting profession outside of her day-to-day job through participation in her community and outside organizations.
The nomination period for the Most Powerful Women in Accounting Awards will close on January 31, 2025.
