State CPA Society News & Updates is a selection of recent announcements and initiatives by CPA associations in the United States and its territories.

State CPA Society News & Updates is a selection of recent announcements and initiatives by CPA associations in the United States and its territories.

The California Society of CPAs (CalCPA) has created the CalCPA Monica Thompson Benevolent Fund to assist CalCPA members that have been affected by the recent fires.

In addition, the AICPA is also offering a benevolent fund to help assist those impacted by the fires.

For all California Board of Accountancy (CBA) licensees and applicants affected by the recent wildfires in the Los Angeles area, the CBA is offering several options to assist during this difficult time. Those impacted by the fires can also visit ca.gov/LAfires for additional resources and announcements; CalOES for a list of recovery resources and the Red Cross wildfire relief for additional resources.

The Maine Society of Certified Public Accountants (MECPA) has announced that their Annual Meeting and Conference will take place on May 15, 2025. Registration will open at a later date.

The Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA) has announced the CFO Series 2025. Those interested can choose from the Troy location, the Grand Rapids location or the Virtual option. The Troy series starts in early February 2025 and Grand Rapids series starts in April 2025.

TheNebraska Society of Certified Public Accountants (NESCPA) has announced the 7th Annual Business, Industry, & Innovation Conference, which will take place Tuesday, April 29. The cost of the conference s $335 for NESCPA members with a non-member price of $395. Visit the Conference page for more information or to register.

The New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJCPA) has opened registration for the 2025 NJCPA Convention and Expo, which will take place in Atlantic City June 3–6, 2025. The event features 35 sessions, 10 networking events and more than 70 exhibitors. Early bird prices are in effect until May 25, 2025, with NJCPA members paying $950 with non-members paying $1,250 for a full convention pass, with two, three, and four day passes available as well.
