Nearly two dozen of the accounting profession thought leaders convened in Dallas on February 18, 2025, for three days of discussions, panels and networking events focused on the significant challenges and key trends currently faced by professionals and firms, as well as emerging issues that are likely to shape firms in the near future.

Session topics include the positive and negative impacts of AI, agentic AI, private equity, staffing challenges, AICPA initiatives, future changes, security, A&A developments, CAS, and accounting education.

The symposium is being held at the Fairmont Hotel in downtown Dallas. Now in its 16th year, the symposium was initially developed by Gregory LaFollette, CPA, a long-time practitioner, former executive editor of CPA Practice Advisor, and former lead of CPA.com’s member services.

Hosted by CPA Practice Advisor, attendees at this year’s event included top firm leaders, tech experts, practice consultants, and Mark Koziel, CPA, the new president and CEO of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). Koziel, who has been a long-term participant of the event, joined by video this year due to his new responsibilities at the AICPA.

The invitation-only event is being held Feb. 18-20, 2025, at the Fairmont Dallas.
