AVF Consulting Announces Several Promotions
AVF Consulting recently announced the promotions of Aderonke K. Adelekan (Addie) to Chief Operating Officer; Brad Winslow to manager of the Implementation and Customer Support teams; and Robin A. Carter to Chief Financial Officer and Head of Contracts and Agreements.

In her new role, Adelekan will oversee the day-to-day activities that support internal administration and AVF’s clients. She will also have responsibility for internal and client-facing technology services, software implementation services, customer support, training, administration and project management. Adelekan received her master’s degree in Business Administration from Washington University’s Executive MBA program and her bachelor’s degree in Information Systems from Howard University.

As Manager of Implementation and Customer Service, Winslow will oversee the implementation process and coordination of technical resources, programmers and other personnel. He received his master’s degree in business from The Johns Hopkins University and his bachelor’s degree from Salisbury University.

Carter has held the dual role of CFO and COO for AVF since 2012 and has more than 30 years of experience in accounting, finance, administration, human resources and IT. Moving forward, Carter will focus on the company’s growth and strengthening the company’s contracts and agreements practices.

KatzAbosch Director Named Woman of the Year
KatzAbosch, recently announced one of its Directors, Anita Sheckells, CPA, CCIFP, CCA, has been named Woman of the Year by the Associated Builders and Contractors Baltimore Metro Chapter. Sheckells received the award at the annual ABC Baltimore Winter Gala.

Sheckells co-founded the construction group at KatzAbosch and serves as a mentor and role model for other young women in the industry.  She has also served on the Women in ABC committee, most recently as Vice Chair. Sheckells also served as the chair of this year’s WABC Women’s Empowerment Day. The program, which provides a full day of education for the women of My Sister's Place Women's Center, is dedicated to Construction Careers and promoting women in construction.  She is currently serving as the Vice Chair of the WABC.

Decosimo Names New Principal in Healthcare Practice
Decosimo recently appointed David Cranford, CPA as a Principal in the firm’s Healthcare Practice. Cranford has more than 25 years of experience as a senior executive and financial manager in the healthcare field, specializing in physician services and healthcare consulting. He graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

Rodman & Rodman P.C. Appoints Office Manager
Rodman & Rodman, P.C. recently appointed Katherine Bautze as office manager of the firm’s main office. Bautze has more than 20 years of administrative, bookkeeping and managerial experience and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts in North Adams.

Porte Brown Acquires Chicagoland Firm
Porte Brown LLC, a Chicagoland accounting firm, recently announced the acquisition of LHW & Associates based in Crystal Lake, Illinois. LHW – which offers specialized services for mortgage banking, construction, manufacturing, real estate, professional services and medical clients – also offers a “Virtual CFO” practice. LHW’s partner and other staff joined Porte Brown’s staff and the firm will operate under the Porte Brown LLC name in their Crystal Lake office.

Katz, Sapper & Miller Names New Managers
Katz, Sapper & Miller recently announced several new managers: Anne DeLaney, Audit and Assurance Services; Neil Giannini, Healthcare Resources Group; William Graff, Tax Department; Sarah Hammond, Business Advisory Group; Eric Land, Business Advisory Group; Brianne Lyons, Audit and Assurance Services; Brittani Maletta, Audit and Assurance Services; JP Moore, Healthcare Resources Group; Aimee Reavling, Tax Department; Brittany Schutter, Business Advisory Group; Clint Singleton, Business Advisory Group; and Ali Todd, Business Advisory and Veterinary Services Groups.

WeiserMazars LLP Adds New Partners
WeiserMazars LLP recently announced the addition of Richard J. Bloom, CPA as partner its Edison, NJ office, and Ilene Mak, CPA and Candace Quinn as partners in its New York City office. Bloom will work in the Private Client Services and Tax Practices and specializes in personal tax and financial planning for high net worth individuals. He has more than 17 years of experience working with the Big Four.

Mak brings more than 20 years of corporate and partnership tax services experience to the Tax Services Practice. In addition, she has prepared large tax compliance engagements and consolidated/combined tax returns for domestic and foreign corporations and partnerships.

Quinn, who has joined the Tax Services Practice, has more than 25 years of experience specializing in global executive compensation and benefits for multinational and domestic corporations. She also has experience with the Internal Revenue Codes, Employee Retirement Income Security Act, and global executive compensation and benefits.
