Top 10 accounting firm BDO USA announced Thursday it will be adding 48 professionals to its management consulting practice from Blue Beyond Consulting, a San Francisco-based firm focused on the people side of business, in a merger that is expected to close on March 1.
Financial terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.
BDO USA said in a media release that the combination marks a strategic expansion of its advisory services, enhancing the firm’s ability to integrate human capital management with strategy, operations, and technology to help clients achieve their desired business results.
“At BDO, we have a fundamental belief that culture drives business success,” BDO USA CEO Wayne Berson said in a statement. “Blue Beyond’s mission and work are remarkably aligned with our core purpose and values. Together, we’ll be well-positioned to help our clients create environments where people thrive and act as a true catalyst for sustainable growth.”
According to BDO, the Blue Beyond Consulting team brings an interdisciplinary approach to create compelling and effective people strategy and solutions. Blue Beyond professionals help leaders drive business value through the “soft stuff” that is the “hard stuff” in business. With deep capabilities in communication, culture, leadership, organizational effectiveness, and change management, the team helps clients maximize the value of their greatest asset: people.
“We are pleased to bring in the Blue Beyond team,” said Jonathan Hughes, national managing principal and global practice leader of BDO USA’s management consulting practice. “They help clients tackle sensitive and challenging workplace issues by bringing the right people together, asking the right questions, and creating alignment to deliver tangible solutions.”
“By integrating Blue Beyond’s offerings, we are set to elevate our management consulting practice and grow our client service capabilities,” added Eskander Yavar, BDO’s national managing principal for advisory services.
Blue Beyond works with global Fortune 500 and mid-market firms, with particular depth of experience in high-tech, manufacturing, healthcare, life sciences, and financial services. In addition, Blue Beyond has a practice dedicated to serving the not-for-profit, government, and higher education sectors.
“Blue Beyond’s mission has been to build organizations where both the business and people thrive and to be that kind of company for our own employees. BDO clearly embodies this same philosophy in how it treats employees and how it serves its clients,” said Cheryl Fields Tyler, founder and CEO of Blue Beyond Consulting. “BDO’s deep knowledge and extensive resources will provide new opportunities for our people and clients.”
