Bloomberg BNA Names Latcham Award Winner
Bloomberg BNA recently announced that Joe Huddleston, Executive Director in Ernst & Young’s National Indirect Tax group, is the recipient of the 2015 Franklin C. Latcham Award for Distinguished Service in State and Local Taxation. The Latcham Award is named for Franklin C. Latcham, the first Chairman of Bloomberg BNA’s State and Local Tax Advisory Board, and is given to a distinguished state tax practitioner every year.
Huddleston previously served as the Executive Director of the Multistate Tax Commission, the Commissioner for the Tennessee Department of Revenue and as CFO for the Metropolitan Government of the City of Nashville and Davidson County. He was also president of the Federation of Tax Administrators and the Southeast Association of Tax Administrators.
Warren Averett, LLC Expands Southeast Presence
Warren Averett, LLC recently announced a merger with Jinks & Moody, PA as part of its efforts to expand its Southeast presence. Following the merger, Warren Averett will have more than 800 team members, serving clients in offices across Alabama, Florida and Georgia. Jinks & Moody specializes in providing tax, accounting services, compilations, reviews and consulting services to individuals and business clients.
PwC Appoints New Partner of Risk Assurance Practice
PricewaterhouseCoopers recently announced the appointment of Jeff Hunter as Partner of the firm’s Risk and Compliance Systems and Analytics practice in the Washington D.C. Metro market. In his new role, Hunter will focus on leveraging the capability that PwC has built within risk and compliance for financial services firms and applying them to other highly-regulated industries, including healthcare, energy, utilities, industrial products, and retail and consumer. He will also help lead the firm’s efforts in growing the RCSA practice in the Washington Metro market and PwC’s Anti-Money Laundering practice. His experience includes leading large scale AML compliance projects, enterprise wide reporting capabilities, trade surveillance, anti-money laundering and forensic testing. Hunter earned his MBA from the Fuqua School of Business, Duke University, his B.S. in Organizational/ Industrial Psychology from George Mason University, and his Advanced Certificate in Applied Mathematics from Suisse Federal Institute of Technology.
CDH Merges with Heath Corporation
CDH recently announced a merger with Heath Corporation. Heath Corporation will now serve clients under the CDH name from its current location. CDH provides tax, audit, HR consulting, IT, marketing and training services to privately held manufacturing and distribution, professional services, construction and non-profit companies. Heath will join CDH providing “Executive Focus” services under the existing v-Focus service line. Heath currently serves companies within a variety of industries with an emphasis on manufacturing, helping them identify key performance metrics, engaging all executive departments for increased contribution to improve operational and financial results.
O’Connor Davies Announces New Merger
O’Connor Davies, LLP recently announced a merger with Flackman, Goodman and Potter, LLP as part of O’Connor Davies’ growth strategy. FGP specializes in transaction advisory services for closely held businesses and private equity funds.
Robin Hall Named Business Woman of the Year
Robin Hall of VARC Solutions was recently honored as the Business Woman of the Year at the Friendswood Chamber of Commerce 52nd Annual Chairman’s Gala. The Gala honors business leaders, elected officials and other leading members of the Friendswood community for their professionalism and commitment. Hall has more than 15 years of experience and is an Intuit Advisory Board member, Intuit Solutions Provider and Intuit QuickBase Solution Provider. She is a well-known instructor and speaker, speaking at Scaling New Heights, the Intuit Solution Provider Conference, and CNN Radio. She has also been awarded Intuit’s Partner of the Year award, All Stars Award, Customer Satisfaction awards and Sales Achievement Awards.
Mazars Announces Integration in China
Mazars recently announced its integration with Chinese audit firm ZhongShen ZhongHuan in as part of its efforts to create a full-service organization with the ability to serve clients in 77 countries. As part of the merger, more than 1,800 professionals, including 83 partners will be united from 15 offices across Mainland China. Zhang Liwen, Chief Chartered Accountant, ZhongShen ZhongHuan, has been appointed to the Mazars Group Executive Board and Shi Wenxian, Chief Partner, ZhongShen ZhongHuan, has been appointed to the Mazars Group Governance Council.
