Sage, a developer of integrated accounting, payroll and payment systems, has announced that Marc Scheipe has been appointed as President of Sage North America. Under Scheipe’s leadership as interim regional President, the region hit financial targets and completed the first stages of its transformation. He will now take this role on a permanent basis, continuing to sit on the Executive Committee, reporting to the CEO.
“We want to support the ambition of entrepreneurs across North America with brilliant technology, an enduring customer relationship and a thriving eco-system of partners and accountants,” said Stephen Kelly, Sage CEO. “Marc’s leadership has driven great progress with that mission. He has inspiring energy and vision for how we can support businesses and also the communities we work in, and I am pleased to appoint him to the role.”
The appointment comes as Sage announces that it has reached 250,000 customers on its cloud products. In December, at the annual results for FY 15, Sage announced that in North America, strong performance from Sage 50 and payroll helped maintain growth. The release of Sage Drive in Canada and a focus on subscription adoption across North America has seen software subscription revenue for Sage 50c in North America grow by over five-fold. In 2016, Scheipe has led the organization through the first stages of its transformation program, targeting improved efficiency and investing in core sales and service skills.
Scheipe is an accomplished business leader, with more than 20 years of financial services experience focused on financial management, strategy development, process improvement and sales/operations leadership. Throughout his career, he has worked extensively with small businesses and entrepreneurs, and brings a unique perspective to his role at Sage. “I am confident and excited to take on this position in North America. As Sage continues to invest in future growth, I look forward to leading the journey toward innovation and success”, says Scheipe.
Scheipe is a distinguished graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy. While in the Navy, he attained the rank of lieutenant commander and held various roles in operations, training, and maintenance. He is also an FA-18 strike/fighter pilot, TOPGUN graduate, and Six Sigma Black Belt and holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
