Crowe LLP has been named to the Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For list for the second consecutive year. Announced today, the 2019 list is based on feedback representing more than 4.3 million employees at Great Place to Work Certified™ organizations. Crowe is a public accounting, consulting and technology firm with offices around the world.

Since its debut on the Fortune 100 Best list last year, Crowe celebrated its 75th year in business by completing a year-long community service initiative. Crowe CEO Jim Powers had challenged personnel to volunteer 75,000 hours in their communities, and the firm answered with more than 82,000 volunteer hours.

“It’s no coincidence that there is a ‘we’ in the Crowe name. Crowe wouldn’t be the firm it is today without the people and communities who have supported its growth over the years. The community service challenge acknowledged that and honored our core values of ‘Care, Share, Invest and Grow,’” Powers said.

In alignment with those values, Crowe is sharing its good “fortune” to celebrate this year’s Fortune 100 Best recognition by teaming up with the Arbor Day Foundation to plant one tree for every person in the firm. Continuing its commitment to California wildfire relief efforts, Crowe has chosen to have the trees planted in California to help reforest the areas affected.

The Fortune list is based on more than 60 workplace elements, including compensation, trust in managers, fairness, camaraderie and workplace traits linked to innovation. Beyond these, Crowe offers a number of benefits and initiatives that make it a great place to work, including:

  • Mobility and flexibility: Crowe personnel are allowed to work where they’re most productive – whether that be the office, their home or elsewhere – and wear jeans while they’re in the office.
  • Expanded benefits: In addition to its healthcare, retirement and paid time off benefits, the Crowe internal well-being portal allows personnel to earn points toward gift cards and health insurance premium reductions. The firm’s expanded parental and military leave policies have also been recognized as a driver for its best workplace recognition.
  • Community relations: Crowe provides paid time off for volunteering and aligns its charitable contributions with the volunteer efforts of its people. Because of the success of the 75,000-hour volunteer challenge, Powers recently kicked off a new challenge to volunteer 100,000 hours by 2020.
  • Innovation: Crowe continues to invest in its people’s new ideas using its New Product Development program. Last fiscal year, the firm approved $8.6 million toward the exploration of 56 new ideas and further development of 24 existing concepts.
