From the 2019 reviews of sales tax compliance systems.

Bloomberg Tax’s Sales & Use Tax Rates Finder provides access to real-time tax rates online. The Sales & Use Tax Rates Finder is a feature of Bloomberg Tax’s State Tax offering, combining accurate, up-to-the-date state tax research with cutting edge technology.

Bloomberg Tax Sales & Use Tax Rates Finder is designed as a premier look-up resource, and also allows users to import tax data directly into third-party point of sale or accounting/billing applications. The product offers rates for more than 8,000 state, city, and county tax jurisdictions, as well as for Puerto Rico and Canada. Sales & Use Tax Rates Finder offers a drill-down search capability that provides the most accurate tax rates available, with historical data easily accessible as well.

Sales and Use Tax Rates Finder offers an intuitive user interface, with the main screen offering a variety of options including tax type, effective date of the tax, and the current rate. The product supports both sales and use tax rates, and it allows users to choose between the two from the main screen. Another nice feature is the inclusion of a calculator which enables users to easily calculate current tax liability based on taxable amounts entered.

Sales & Use Tax Rates Finder’s database is continually updated to ensure that users always have access to the most recent information. There is also an option to download tax rates and import them into third-party accounting applications if desired.

Bloomberg Tax State Tax includes a library of nearly 3,400 sales and use tax forms that is automatically updated with the latest information. All forms are fully customizable and can be filled out online, with the ability to date stamp forms if desired. Exemption certificates, business registrations, powers of attorney and other forms are available as well.

The forms library is also easily searchable, with users able to locate the appropriate forms using keywords or form numbers. Complete form instructions are also available for any form in the application. The product does not offer e-filing or electronic remittance of tax payments due directly with the taxing authorities, but users can easily complete forms online and print them at their convenience to be filed online or by mail. Users can also save all created forms as PDFs for future reference.

Bloomberg Tax offers toll-free customer support during regular business hours, as well as technical assistance 24/7. Users can also contact support via a form provided on the website, where a variety of white papers and webinars are also available.

Well-suited for businesses and accounting professionals that need a complete software and research service, Bloomberg Tax State Tax and the Sales & Use Tax Rate Finder provide excellent real-time sales tax data. Pricing is available directly from the vendor upon request.
